Die cast aluminium with a non stick interior is the practical middle of the cookware wall: casseroles at 24 and 28 centimetres, saucepans from 18 centimetres, and fry pans, most supplied with tempered glass lids.

The argument for a buyer is weight and freight. Die cast delivers even heat distribution close to cast iron at a fraction of the mass, which makes it easier for a customer to lift and cheaper for you to ship and shelf. Ceramic based non stick coatings are used across the range where a PFAS free claim is wanted on the box.

It sits directly below cast iron as the step down tier, and beside bakeware when planning the full cookware fixture.
